Bananagrams can be likened to scrabble and is at first look somewhat similar, however, it is commonly seen as being far more fun due to its faster pace which means everyone is kept on their toes with no waiting for long periods to take your turn.

Taking its name form the banana shaped bag which it comes Bananagrams is played by tipping out the 144 squared letter pieces from which each player takes 21, leaving the left overs in the middle. Then each player turns over their tiles and makes a grid on interconnecting words, similar to scrabble.

The first person to use all their letter shout “peel” then everyone must take another letter. If at any stage you have a letter which cannot be fitted into your grid then you must call out”dump” and put it back in the middle, however the downside is that you then are required to take additional letters. Bananagrams continues until the point where there are more players than there are squared letters in the middle.
